The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is Thailand's long-stay visa built for serious people — athletes, remote workers, and anyone who wants to live here properly. Valid for 5 years with multiple re-entries. No visa runs. No 90-day panic. Just a clean, legal life in the country you're already training in.
Embassy update: Most Thai embassies now require proof of at least 9 months of training enrollment for DTV applications. Shorter packages (e.g. 6 months) are no longer accepted at many consulates.
One all-in price covers 9 months of training at Lions plus a 5-year Destination Thailand Visa — meeting what most embassies now require (9+ months minimum). We handle every form, every fee, every submission — you just show up and train.

Launched in mid-2024, the Destination Thailand Visa is Thailand's answer to long-stay tourists, digital nomads and martial-arts students. It's a multiple-entry visa, valid for 5 years, with each entry allowing a 180-day stay — extendable once for another 180 days at the local Thai immigration office.
For Lions students, the relevant track is the Thai Soft Power category, which explicitly covers Muay Thai training (and by extension other sports practiced at a registered gym). You commit to training at Lions, we issue you the training certificate, and you submit it as part of your DTV application.
Important: Many Thai embassies and consulates now expect your training enrollment to cover at least 9 months. Lions DTV packages are structured to meet that minimum — shorter commitments are unlikely to be accepted.
If Lions cannot deliver the agreed 9-month training enrollment and DTV support package as described, you are covered by our 100% money-back guarantee. That removes the biggest fear when committing to a long-stay visa package overseas.
“The paperwork felt overwhelming until Lions laid out every step. Worth every baht for peace of mind.” — DTV client (name on request)
Ask about the guarantee →Many Thai embassies and consulates now require proof of at least 9 months of enrollment at your training gym for DTV applications under the sports / soft-power category. Lions packages are built to meet that minimum. Shorter commitments (such as 6 months) are often rejected — always check your embassy's latest rules.
Most people do — it's the smoothest path. Some Thai consulates will accept applications from a third country, and a few in-country conversions are possible, but rules vary by consulate. Apply from home if you can.
The requirement is “500,000 THB or equivalent in your home currency or in a 6-month bank statement.” Some consulates will accept a parent/sponsor letter with proof of their funds. Talk to us before applying.
Once we have your passport details and booking, we typically issue the Lions training certificate within 24–48 hours.
Yes — pay drop-in or weekly rates and train on your tourist entry. The DTV is for long-term commitment after you've decided Lions is the right gym for you.
Every time you re-enter while your DTV is valid, you get a fresh 180-day stamp. Some people do 6 months in, 1 week out, and repeat.
Yes — the “Workation” sub-category of the DTV explicitly covers remote workers employed by a foreign company. You cannot work for a Thai company.
No. Smart Visa is for skilled professionals working in target industries. Elite Visa (now Thailand Privilege Visa) is a paid long-term residency. The DTV is cheaper and specifically aimed at trainees, remote workers and long-stay tourists.
This page is a guide based on the Thai government's published DTV rules at the time of writing. Always check the official Thai embassy website for your country before applying — requirements can change.
