TRAINING IN PHUKET

BJJ classes in Phuket for beginners and competitors

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Lions suits first-day white belts, colored belts visiting Phuket for a training camp, and MMA athletes who must improve ground game. Classes are technical, not chaotic — coaches stop rounds to teach, not just count minutes.

If you are comparing BJJ in Phuket how to find the right gym, look for legitimate belt lineage, mat culture, and evening class times that fit fight camp. Our head coach is a 5th-degree BJJ black belt with 19 years as a black belt and decades of MMA and grappling at elite Brazilian academies.

Kids and adults train in separate programs; this page is adult gi/no-gi. No-gi is welcome in gi classes when announced — ask the front desk or WhatsApp for the weekly theme.

Phuket's grappling scene has grown with digital nomads and fight tourists. Training on Soi Ta-iad puts you beside Muay Thai and MMA rooms so you can stack striking and BJJ in one membership. Lions is five minutes from Chalong Circle with consistent evening classes Monday–Friday plus Tuesday/Thursday morning sessions.

Long-tail searches like BJJ Phuket beginner gym often surface hotel mats or one-hour intro deals. Lions offers recurring classes with the same coach core, hygiene standards, and competitive athletes on the mat — so you improve, not just survive a single roll.

Bring a gi if you have one; we can advise on rentals and local shops on the soi. Trim nails, shower before class, and expect 60–90 minutes depending on the session block.

FAQ

Common questions

Is BJJ at Lions good for complete beginners?

Gi or no-gi — which should I attend?

Gi classes are the default schedule. No-gi rounds are integrated when coaches announce — message us for the current week.
